Objectives

To deploy 18 highly skilled Design Engineers for a global manufacturing company, enabling accelerated product development, strengthening engineering capacity across international delivery centres, and ensuring design excellence across complex, compliance-driven manufacturing environments.

Background & Business Need

A globally operating manufacturing organisation was scaling its product design and engineering function to meet rising demand across international markets. With new product lines in development and existing portfolios requiring continuous design iteration, the pressure on their engineering teams was mounting.

The organisation operated across multiple geographies and needed design engineering talent that could not only deliver locally but also collaborate and contribute across international delivery centers, seamlessly.

The challenge was threefold:

  • A growing backlog of design projects with no bandwidth to absorb them.
  • An internal talent pipeline that was too slow and too narrow for the scale required
  • The need for internationally deployable engineers, professionals who could work across borders, time zones, and compliance frameworks.

SheWork was engaged to solve all three simultaneously.

Background & Business Need

One of India’s largest nationalized banks, working with a top IT services provider, was using a database system that was stable but very costly. The high license fees and limited flexibility made it hard to innovate.

As customers started expecting faster and smoother digital banking, the bank decided to move to PostgreSQL. But there was a big gap as they didn’t have enough skilled DBAs to handle such a large migration.

They needed more than just people. They needed a partner who could deliver results from Day One. That is why they chose SheWork, trusted for its ability to quickly source niche talent and ensure smooth project execution.

Challenges

Specialised engineering skillset

Design Engineers with expertise in CAD, CAM, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, GD&T, and manufacturing-specific design standards were in limited supply.

International deployment complexity

Sourcing talent capable of working across geographies required additional screening for communication proficiency, cross-cultural collaboration, and international compliance awareness.

Volume at speed

18 engineers needed across multiple specialisations simultaneously, a scale that internal HR could not absorb without significant delays.

Domain depth required

Candidates needed hands-on experience in manufacturing environments, not just design theory, with an understanding of tolerances, materials, and production constraints

High dropout risk

Specialised engineering talent was fielding multiple offers simultaneously, making retention at the offer stage a critical challenge.

Multi-location coordination

Deploying engineers across domestic and international delivery centres required precise logistical and operational coordination beyond standard hiring

Solutions by SheWork

SheWork designed a comprehensive engineering talent deployment strategy, combining deep domain sourcing, international fulfilment capability, and structured onboarding to meet the client's global scale requirements.

Domain-First Talent Mapping

SheWork went deep into its pre-vetted engineering talent network, identifying Design Engineers with hands-on manufacturing experience across automotive, industrial, consumer goods, and precision engineering sectors. Every candidate was mapped not just on technical skills but on real-world manufacturing environment exposure.

International Fulfilment Capability

SheWork’s cross-border talent deployment framework enabled the client to access engineering professionals capable of contributing across international delivery centres. Candidates were assessed for global work readiness, including communication proficiency, cross-cultural collaboration skills, visa eligibility where applicable, and familiarity with international design and compliance standards such as ISO, ASME, and DIN.

Rigorous Technical Pre-Screening

Every candidate underwent a structured technical evaluation, covering CAD/CAM proficiency, design for manufacturability, GD&T interpretation, tolerance stack-up analysis, and domain-specific design standards. Only validated, deployment-ready engineers advanced to the client interview stage.

Cohort-Based Deployment

18 engineers were deployed in structured cohorts, ensuring each wave was onboarded, integrated, and productive before the next began. This approach-maintained project continuity and prevented operational disruption during ramp-up.

Proactive Offer Management

To combat the high dropout risk in a competitive engineering talent market, SheWork maintained active engagement with every candidate from offer to joining, ensuring acceptance translated into actual deployment without last-minute withdrawals.

Client Impact

What started as a critical engineering talent shortage became a global deployment success story. With 18 deployment-ready Design Engineers onboarded through SheWork’s precision talent strategy and international fulfilment capability activated across delivery centres, the manufacturing organisation was able to accelerate its product design pipeline, meet international project commitments, and build an engineering team that was truly global in capability.
